Dear my faithful subscribers,
I apologize for falling off the face of the earth for a while there, but I’M BACK, baby, and as geed up on cacao as ever!
So here’s the reason for why I’ve been MIA: I moved to Denver June 1st (after 4 years of living in Sydney and 5 months of traveling Asia, in case you forgot :)) and dove head first into getting my new U.S.-based life up and running. You know, all the fun stuff like remembering how to drive on the right side of the road, training myself to stop saying ‘mate,’ doing the summer wedding circuit, hitting the trail on Colorado’s stunning mountains, and, of course, finding an apartment to live in and unpacking my Aussie life out of boxes. Needless to say, I hit the ground running and spent my blogging hours doing what you might call ‘life-admin.’
In August, I enrolled in the Nutrition Therapy Institute’s Natural Foods Chef program here in Denver. It’s a 16-week course designed to teach you how to cook therapeutic meals for yourself and/or your clients who struggle with health conditions, such as celiac, IBS, candida, diabetes, hormonal imbalance, cancer, etc. From my past posts, I’m sure it’s pretty obvious that I’ve been into cooking for a while now. I decided to take this course because I believe that having the knowledge and skills to teach clients how to cook quick, delicious and healing meals for themselves and their families will be a great adjunct to my holistic health coaching practice. The program finished up in a few weeks ago which is very exciting because I am 100% ready to start working! Weird……..never thought I’d say that! I guess a year hiatus from getting a paycheck will do that to ya…
In addition to going to school, I’ve also started a small business with an awesome chick named Jenni Lyons, who’s the owner of a Denver start up called Happy Leaf Kombucha. We went into business together, operating as Happy Life Cleanse, to run community-based, group cleanse programs for locals in Denver. Our first cleanse, the Pre-Holiday Season Cleanse, which we ran in November, went really well! It was 21-days long and very intimate and personalized for each cleanser with one-on-one and group coaching with both myself and Jenni. When people hear the word cleanse, most immediately think depravation, or ‘juice fast,’ but that is NOT what we’re doing with our programs. Our cleansers eat whole, real foods the entire time. Green juices and kombucha are included as supplements to the cleanse regime but not as meal substitutions! The Pre-Holiday Season Cleanse was our kick-off cleanse, but we are going to be designing a variety of cleanses to suit people’s needs, i.e. the 4-day, 10-day, Spring Clean, etc. Stay tuned.
So, that’s a little sum up of what I’ve been working on these past few months and an explanation for the radio silence on the snoopbloggyblog.
Now, I have some questions for you guys, if you don’t mind! I’m currently in the process of designing my new website and working out what kind of food/nutrition services people are interested in so I can formulate my offerings based on that. So, I’m throwing some questions out to you:
What is your biggest health struggle? What do you need help/support with the most when it comes to your diet and/or lifestyle? What do you wish you had access to but currently don’t?
I want to hear from you, my loyal subscribers (p.s. - thank you for not ditching me!), so I can cater to you as best I can with blog posts, videos, ebooks, menu plans/recipes, etc.
I’ll get the wheels turning for you if you’re drawing a blank on the questions above….
Do you want to see more posts on weight loss? Clearing your skin naturally? Beating the bloat and other digestion tips? Hormone balance? Sleep? Exercise? Yoga?
How about more recipes, weekly menu plans, cooking instructional videos?
Or perhaps online detox programs for those of you who aren’t in Denver?
I would be SO appreciative of any insight into what you’re after in getting your health fix from yours truly. Pop your suggestions into the Comments section below or, if it’s more personal, drop me a line direct – Stephanie.firstname.lastname@example.org
You da bomb.
